Aliança Millions Missing

Aliança Millions Missing brings together ME/CFS groups and individuals from Portugal, Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking communities. They are a registered non-profit association in Portugal, committed to raising awareness about Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and advocating for individuals affected by this chronic illness. As part of an international movement, Aliança Millions Missing  works to inform the public and healthcare professionals about ME, and serves as a bridge between countries, linking key researchers and clinicians to foster international cooperation and joint projects in capacity building and advocacy.

Mission:

Since 2018, Aliança Millions Missing has worked continuously in Portugal, led by Portuguese patients and allies from Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking communities.

Aliança Millions Missing has worked to:

  • Advance scientific research on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), Long COVID, and other post-acute infection syndromes (PAIS)
  • Equip healthcare professionals through continuous education and international knowledge exchange
  • Promote public policies and recognition of these conditions in Portugal

The Associação Aliança Millions Missing is based at the Institute for Evidence-Based Health (ISBE), Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon. Aliança Millions Missing is an independent entity working to advance scientific research, medical education, and public policy on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), Long COVID, and other post-acute infection syndromes (PAIS).
