Aliança Millions Missing brings together ME/CFS groups and individuals from Portugal & Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking communities. They are a dedicated collective, committed to raising awareness about Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and advocating for individuals affected by this chronic illness. As part of an international movement, Aliança Millions Missing works to inform the public and healthcare professionals about ME, and serves as a bridge between countries, linking key researchers and clinicians to foster international cooperation and joint projects in capacity building and advocacy.
Mission:
Aliança Millions Missing focuses its work on Portuguese-speaking nations and communities. Its mission revolves around four core objectives:
- Dissemination of Knowledge: Promoting awareness and understanding of ME through the dissemination of scientifically-based knowledge.
- Advocacy for Evidence-Based Policies: Supporting the adoption of practices and policies that ensure access to proper care and enable ME/CFS patients to lead dignified lives.
- Collective Action: Engaging in collective actions to advocate for and support of Portuguese-speaking individuals living with ME/CFS, via physical or virtual self-help groups, and cooperation with other collectives and associations
- Capacity Building: Promoting education of health professionals;; facilitate their access to information by offering them resources and access to the best available clinical and research evidence.
